Pakur: Low visibility leads to head-on collision between bus and truck, a dozen dead

Dumka: At least a dozen got killed in a massive collision between a passenger bus and truck carrying LPG cylinders along Amrapara-Littipara road under Amrapara police station in Jharkhand’s Pakur district, police said on Wednesday.

Low visibility due to heavy fog early in the morning is said to have caused the mishap. Majority of the casualty are passengers of the bus. The bus was going to Dumka from Sahebganj, said local sources. Taking note of the mishap, chief minister Hemant Soren directed district administration to ensure proper treatment to all the injured expressing condolences to the departed souls and bereaved families. Till the time of filing this report, no formal compensation has been announced to the injured or kin of the deceased.
