Ranchi: Rebel on NIA watchlist held
Ranchi: Ranchi police on Sunday announced about the arrest of two rebels including a zonal commander of Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC), Bhikhan Ganjhu (40), who carried a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head. The other rebel was identified as Rahul Munda (29). Both were held from Ranchi and hailed from Piparwar in Chatra district.
Addressing a press conference, senior SP S K Jha said, “Acting on a tip off on March 16, we formed a special team to verify the input and nab the rebels. They were held with the levy amount which they had come to collect.”
Ganjhu was wanted in 26 cases involving murder, arson, extortion among others and was also a wanted in terror funding case which is being probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
On the recoveries, he said that they have seized Rs 12.32 lakh levy amount, seven mobiles, two routers, a laptop, a pan card, five debit cards among others.
