Cyber fraud alert: Fake posters of PM Mudra loan in circulation in Jharkhand
Ranchi: Cyber cons are active in Jharkhand trying to dupe public in the name of Pradhan Mantri Mudra Loan scheme, state police has said issued an alert to people asking them to not fall prey for any such advertisements or messages.
Hazaribag police through its official twitter handle shared a poster of PM Mudra Loan Scheme which has been in circulation across the state on Sunday. The tweet read: “Cyber fraud alert! These posters are pasted in various parts of Jharkhand including Hazaribagh. This is a trap by cyber fraudsters & we are trying to locate & arrest them. We appeal all the citizens to not fall prey to these tactics & DO NOT send money to anybody for any reason.”
Notably, the fraudulent posters in circulation states that loan in tune to 50,000 to five lakh will be issued within 24 hours without any collateral guarantee. It further states that special discount between 30 percent to 50 percent will be provided to students and women. It also asks people to call on 6262525171 to enroll themselves to motivate others to register with the company and earn.
Sources in the state police told this portal that people cyber cons hack the phone numbers of those who approach on the given number to dent the bank accounts.
Notably, Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) is a scheme launched by the Prime Minister on April 8, 2015 for providing loans up to 10 lakh to the non-corporate, non-farm small/micro enterprises. These loans are classified as MUDRA loans under PMMY. These loans are given by Commercial Banks, RRBs, Small Finance Banks, MFIs and NBFCs. The borrower can approach any of the lending institutions mentioned above or can apply online through this portal www.udyamimitra.in . Under the aegis of PMMY, MUDRA has created three products namely ‘Shishu’, ‘Kishore’ and ‘Tarun’ to signify the stage of growth / development and funding needs of the beneficiary micro unit / entrepreneur and also provide a reference point for the next phase of graduation / growth, as per the details mentioned on the Mudra.org.in.
