In Jharkhand, man lynched over tree felling

Simdega: Angry mob allegedly lynched and attempted to burn a middle aged man in Simdega district on Tuesday on charges of felling Sal trees despite village diktat.
The deceased has been identified as Sanju Pradhan (35).

The incident occured in Bambalkera village under Kolebira police.
Around noon today, village held a over rampant feeling of Sal trees in the area after which it was decided to round up Pradhan accusing him for the crime. Later on, sources said that he was thrashed after being dragged out of his houses by locals and later was put on fire.
Police rushed to the spot after getting information but by then, the person was badly charred, said sources.

Simdega SDPO David confirmed the incident speaking to local reporters. Chief minister Hemant Soren taking note of the incident directed authorities in Simdega for crackdown against the culprits. Notably, state government recently passed an anti-mob lynching bill in the recently concluded winter session of the state assembly. 

Meanwhile opposition BJP snubbed state government over continued failure of law and order.
