Jamshedpur: JNAC announces clean-tech challenge

Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has announced clean technology challenge in order to promote tech-friendly solutions for maintaining cleanliness in its command area as part of the Swach Survekshan 2022 in the Steel City. District administration officials on Tuesday informed that the winners at state and national level will be recognized for their contribution.

“At JNAC level, we will select two best technology ideas and send the entries for state level challenge. Winners at the state level meet will get Rs 2.5 lakh, Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh respectively for first, second and third positions,” said an official adding that contestants can participate under four different categories namely social inclusion, zero-dump, plastic waste management and transparency.

The total challenge will be evaluated on 100 points. “As many as 15 points will be for the unique selling points (USP) of the technology offered, 10 points each will be for its operational qualities, usability, 20 points for its commercial aspects among others,” said the official, adding that further details of the competition can be accessed through 

Notably, Jamshedpur was adjudged 12th rank in national Swachh Survekshan Awards, 2020 that were given in Delhi last month. In the previous survey, it was ranked 13th and in 2017, it stood 64th. It also bagged three additional awards for its sustained efforts this year namely in the category of waste management, Safai Mitra Suraksha Challenge and Garbage Free Cities.
