PM twitter hack: JMM’s Sita Soren express concern over country’s cyber security
Ranchi: Sita Soren, Jama MLA of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in the state on Sunday raised questions over cyber security in the country wondering that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s social media account can get comprised, then common people stand highly vulnerable. Early morning today, Prime Minister’s office (PMO) through a tweet informed the nation that PM’s official twitter handle was briefly comprised but has been secured well on priority basis by coordinating with Twitter.
PMO tweeted at 3.18 am stating, “The Twitter handle of PM @narendramodi was very briefly compromised. The matter was escalated to Twitter and the account has been immediately secured. In the brief period that the account was compromised, any Tweet shared must be ignored.”
Reacting to it hours later, Sita Soren, also the daughter in-law of Jharkhand’s chief minister Hemant Soren tweeted in Hindi stating, “If the accounts of those in whose hands country’s security exist, get hacked and comprised, then it raises serious questions on the efficacy of cyber security in the country. Government of India must take stringent steps in regard to cyber security.”
