Rajdhani: Ranchi-Delhi link to ply on new route from Nov 11, MP hails
Ranchi: Union ministry of rail has announced to run Ranchi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express via Lohardaga Tori rail line from November 11 onwards which will cut down the travel time between both the destinations by at least two hours. The development has brought cheers as it was a long pending demand among rail travelers here.
As per the notification issued by the ministry dated November 8, the train will department Ranchi on Thursday to Delhi and from the national capital, it will run on Wednesday on this line. Kanpur, Prayagraj, Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and Garhwa road and Daltonganj stations in Jharkhand have been notified as the commercial stoppages for this train.
“The running of Rajdhani via the new route cut down the travel time by at least two hours. In terms of kilometers, it will reduce about 110km,” said an official at Ranchi railway station.
Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth hailed the development boasting how he was pursuing with the union government for this for long. “I thank railway ministry and government of India at large for finally accepting my demand,” he said, adding that the plan for laying Lohardaga-Tori rail line was originally conceptualized by late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. “Vajpayee had infant laid the foundation stone for this line to cut down on the travel time between Ranchi and Delhi as part of improvement of railway amenities. Finally, his dream will be fulfilled now. During covid-19 pandemic, oxygen trains successfully carried oxygen to different states via through route in lesser time,” he said.
