Ranchi girl first from Jharkhand to return home from war-torn Ukraine

Ranchi: A Satellite Colony based medical student identified as Arpita Prasad on Monday safely returned to her home in Ranchi after days of uncertainty in the ravaged Ukraine, an east European country which was invaded by Russia last Thursday.

The sudden developments left scores of Indians including other nationals in lurch for their safety. From Jharkhand, so far 152 persons, mostly students have been identified stranded in Ukraine. State government is coordinating with the Union government for their safe return. On Sunday, chief minister Hemant Soren also shot a letter to union minister Amit Shah seek safe return of Jharkhand residents along with others.

Jharkhand government has also set up a state level control room for tracking and tracing people from this state who are stranded in Ukraine.
