Ukraine crisis: Jharkhand sets up helplines

Ranchi: Hours after tweeted suggesting rollout of a centralized helpline at the state level to track and trace about those who are stranded in war torn Ukraine, Jharkhand government on Friday night announced setting up a dedicated control room and released phone numbers to accept calls and Whatsapp messages from those stranded in war torn Ukraine after slew of SoS messages it received via social media.

Chief minister Hemant Soren in a tweet announced the numbers. They included 0651-2481055/2480058/2480083/2482052/2481037/2481188 and 9470132591/9431336426/9431336398/9431336472/9431336432.

Earlier in the day, East Singhbhum district administration was the first among all 24 districts to announce helpline. It rolled out three helplines (0657-2440111/2221717 and 8987510050) asking people to share details of those who are stranded in Ukraine to work towards their rescue and rehabilitation.
