CGST: Ranchi Zone surpasses its two previous fiscal year collection

Ranchi: Notwithstanding the covid-19 pandemic, the Central Goods and Services Taxes (CGST) department of Ranchi circle encompassing Jharkhand and Bihar region has crossed past its revenue targets for the 2021-22 fiscal year which concluded on March 31 by amassing Rs 18,223 crore against its target of Rs 18,192 crore. The Ranchi commissionerate collected Rs 4,720, better than two previous fiscal years, it said in a statement.

Principal commissioner CGST Ranchi commissionerate, Satyendra Kumar Singh in a press note said that besides regular revenue collections, anti-evasion works, e-way bill checking, recovery from defaulters among others led to increase in collection. 

“The preventive wing detected numerous cases of GST evasion against contractors, builders, public sector undertaking, dealers and traders,” he noted.

The scrutiny of forms by various taxpayers also revealed mismatch which have been realised with interest.
