Deoghar Ropeway Mishap: Over 40 hour long rescue ops over, 3 dead

Ranchi: Deoghar district administration with the help of Indian Air Force, Army, ITBP, and NDFR on Tuesday post noon ended one of the most challenging rescue operations in the country to save close to 47 lives out of 48 who were stranded midway in the air at Trikut ropeway.

On Sunday, ropeway snapped leading to many tourists stranded in the air midway in different cabin chairs. At least three persons, including a woman died today during the ordeal. The administration is still to formally announce the end of rescue operations.

Two Indian Air Force helicopters were pressed into action on Monday morning after NDRF initially failed to rescue after reaching the spot on Sunday night due to tough location and lack of enough logistic support.
