JMM: Shibu, Hemant retains top posts in party

Ranchi: Disom guru and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)’s patriarch Shibu Soren was on Saturday unanimously elected as the party president while his son and incumbent chief minister Hemant Soren retained his position as the central working president of JMM. State drinking water and sanitation department minister and Garhwa MLA from JMM, Mithilesh Thakur informed it follow JMM’s 12th convention held in Ranchi today. Thakur said, “Guruji and Hemantji has been chosen unanimously by the party to lead from the front.” This is the 10th time that senior Soren has been chosen at the party chief.

The party, which is currently running a coalition government with Congress and RJD in the state, also passed host of several resolutions during the meeting. The party has decided to up the ante against the BJP and its government in the Centre accusing it of increasing working towards weakening democratic set-ups, selling national assets and properties including banks, airports, railway stations etc to private players, attempting to grand lands for corporate through various draconian laws among others.
