Khunti: Police launch poster war against rebels

Ranchi: Posters of dreaded rebels of CPI (Maoists) and PLFI outfit were released and pasted across different parts in Jharkhand’s Khunti district on Thursday by police appealing public to provide tip-off about them and earn rewards promising to keep their identities confidential. The fresh poster war launched by police is seen as its renewed ante against the extremists in the state.

The posters and banners contain details of CPI (Maoist) top rebel Anal Da and Asim Mandal both having reward of Rs 1 crore each on their heads along with other rebels across the rank and files. Among PLFI, poster of the supremo of the banned outfit, Dinesh Gope, who is carrying a reward of Rs 25 lakh and Tilkeshwar Manjhi having reward of Rs 10 lakh is released.

Talking to reporters, Khunti SP Ashutosh Shekhar said that the posters have been pasted across the district. “It’s part of the ongoing campaign by police to flush out rebels and their outfits,” he said.
