Nehru jayanti: Jharkhand Cong rolls out fortnight campaign against Modi govt
Ranchi: Ruling Congress in Jharkhand rolled out Jan Jagran Abhiyan a fortnight protest campaign across the state on Sunday coinciding with the birth anniversary of late PM Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The campaign will run till November 29 during which party workers, split in different groups, will reach out to people across blocks and panchayats in all 24 districts through various interventions to ‘expose’ BJP led government in the Centre.
Addressing media during the formal launch of the campaign, party president Rajesh Thakur said, “In the last seven years since Modi government came to power, the country has slipped into negative growth index be it due to inflation, unemployment, tolerance, or anti-people laws. The biggest ploy which this ruling government has initiated is to rewrite country’s history by distorting facts and demeaning the contributions of several freedom fighters and architects of this country. Hence, on the birth anniversary of Pandit Nehru we are rolling out the campaign as part of nationwide drive.”
Congress ministers in the state cabinet such as Rameshwar Oraon, Badal Patralekh, Alamgir Alam were also present during the formal launch along with host of workers and lawmakers of the party.
