Ranchi: Expired Covid medicines distributed, DC orders inquiry
Ranchi: Ranchi’s deputy commissioner Chhavi Ranjan has ordered a probe after reports of expired medicine in Mukhiya Corona Rahat Kit (medical kit) for people in home isolation surfaced on Friday soon after the mass distribution began in the morning. District programme manager Samresh Kumar, under whose supervision, the kits were prepared has been showcaused.
Bundu SDO Ajay Kumar said that they received reports about expired Lovocet-M tablet found in the kit after which they swung into action. “Strict action will be taken based on the probe wherever the lapse took place,” he said.
According to a press release by district administration, around 10,000 medical kits have been readied and distribution began from today. Ranchi’s current active caseload is over 5000 and majority are in home isolation, said officials.
