Jamshedpur: The XLRI administration has asked its students to vacate the campus in the wake of close to a dozen positive cases of covid-19 which surfaced at the premise of the prestigious B-school. The administration in an official communiqué on Thursday informed that as many as 22 students reported positive for the virus.
“XLRI along with district administration conducted covid-19 test of over 100 students of which 22 tested positive and the reports of the rest are awaited,” read the statement.
Under its Covid-19 policy, XLRI has created isolation areas within the campus to combat, contain and manage the spread of the infections.
“Students who tested positive are isolated in the MDP Residence of the campus with self-contained rooms and room service facilities. Medical supplies, food and counselling services are also provided by the Institute by following the mandatory guidelines and directions issued by the state government,” it said, adding that such Isolation facility located at MDP area was on Thursday also inspected by the district administration. “MDP Residence area is declared containment zone within the XLRI campus,” it said.
Though the isolated RTPCR positive students are showing mild symptoms and are doing well the XLRI administration is monitoring the situation closely to ensure full recovery and rule out any chance of spread.
“Apart from the advisories issued, students testing negative have been asked to vacate the campus,” it said.
